Inter Milan were annoyed by some recent comments by the agent of their captain Lautaro Martinez regarding contract extension talks.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that the Nerazzurri saw the remarks as being out of place.

Inter still have not reached an agreement with their captain Martinez regarding a contract extension.

The 26-year-old’s current deal runs out at the end of June of next year.

Therefore, while there is no rush, the Nerazzurri do want to extend his contract sooner rather than later.

There have been negotiations for months already. However, these have yet to result in an agreement between Inter and Martinez.

The issue is a straightforward one – Inter are not offering what Martinez is demanding in terms of wages.

The figure of €12 million net per season has been bandied about. According to the Corriere, however, there is no confirmation that Martinez is asking for that much, though.

Inter Annoyed By Comments From Agent Of Lautaro Martinez

The fact remains, however, that Inter have not yet made an offer that has been sufficient to convince Martinez to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Moreover, the 26-year-old’s agent has not been shy about speaking to the media.

In the past couple of days Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano has given a couple of interviews about the subject.

And Inter have not been big fans of these kinds of comments from the agent.

In the view of the Nerazzurri, talk about what kinds of wages Martinez deserves and coy remarks about the negotiations hardly help to progress things along.

At the moment, the talks between Inter and Martinez’s representatives are not moving forward.

And from the perspective of the Nerazzurri, continued chatter from the player’s agent is hardly helpful.
