Inter Milan’s attacking depth is getting a boost from youth in preseason, with Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito shining.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

One of Inter Milan’s biggest issues last season was the lack of real attacking depth.

The likes of Marko Arnautovic, Mehdi Taremi, and Joaquin Correa couldn’t really give starting attacking pair Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram adequate understudies.

Therefore, Inter dropped off when the starting strike partnership needed a rest, were on the sidelines with injury, or simply fell out of form.

Inter Attack Gets A Youth Boost From Bonny & Pio Esposito

This summer, Inter offloaded Arnautovic and Correa at the end of their contracts.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Taremi is expected to follow them out the exit door.

Then, Inter signed 21-year-old striker Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma.

And the Nerazzurri also brought Francesco Pio Esposito into the first team fold. In the same summer that he just turned twenty.

Therefore, Inter are hoping that going from hungry young players to experienced veterans in the backup striker slots will lend some freshness to the team in the final third.

And after yesterday’s behind-closed-doors friendly, Tuttosport argue that the performances of the young strikers showed just that.
