Inter Milan Coach Chivu On New Season: ‘You Can’t Go Back & Change The Start – But You Can Change How It Ends’

Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu says that “you can’t go back and change the start, but you can change the end” ahead of the new season.

The Nerazzurri coach gave his thoughts to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are just a few weeks away from the start of their Serie A season.

The Nerazzurri kick off their campaign against Torino on Monday. They host the Granata at the San Siro in their first match of the season.

This will be the first Serie A match in charge of Inter for new coach Cristian Chivu.

Meanwhile, some new faces who have arrived during the summer transfer window will also have a chance to make their debuts.

Inter came agonizingly close to winning the Serie A title last season. However, they lost out by just a single point to Napoli on the final day of the campaign.

Therefore, Chivu will have the task of trying to return Inter to the summit of Italian football in his first season at the helm of the club with whom he spent six years as a player.

The Nerazzurri coach commented ahead of the season that “the other day I read a quote.”

“I even told it to the team,” he said. “It was before a match, I don’t remember which one, this summer.”

Chivu mused that “you can’t go back and change the start, but you can start to change the end.”
