Simone Inzaghi feels that this evening’s Serie A match against Hellas Verona “marks the end of a brilliant journey” for Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri coach spoke to InterTV at the end of the 2-2 draw, via FCInterNews. He also proclaimed that he would like to keep all of the players in his squad next season if he could.

Now Inter have signed off for the 2023-24 season.

The Nerazzurri did so with a wild 2-2 draw away to Hellas Verona.

Inter went ahead early on through Marko Arnautovic. However, Verona scored twice in the first half to gain the advantage.

It was Arnautovic who once again popped up with the goal to get Inter back on level terms.

In the second half both the Gialloblu and the Nerazzurri had several good chances to go ahead.

Inter forced a number of good saves out of Verona keeper Simone Perilli.

And in the final minutes of the match, substitute Alexis Sanchez thought he’d won it with a wonderful scooped finish over Perilli’s head.

However, the Chilean proved to be in an offside position after an offside check.

So Inter finish the campaign with 94 points. They had already confirmed their victory in the Serie A title race more than a month ago.

Inzaghi: Hellas Verona Draw “Marks The End Of A Brilliant Journey” For Inter

Inter coach Inzaghi reflected that “This evening we closed a fantastic season that we shared with the entire Inter family.”

“Because credit has to be shared with everyone,” the coach continued.

“I’m thinking of the club. The players. The coaching staff. And these magnificent fans.”

“They gave us a brilliant celebration,” Inzaghi said of Inter’s Serie A title festivities.

The Nerazzurri coach said that his players “Have been amazing.”

“We’ve had a thrilling journey. We clinched the title with five matches to spare.”

“Today we’ve concluded a job that started on July 13th,” Inzaghi said. “And it’s been a great journey.”

And of his squad, the Inter coach said that “I’ve said it several times before: I’d like to keep all 23 of these players with me.”

“Because some of them in a lot of minutes, some of them in not as many – they’ve all given me a massive contribution. Whether it’s in training or in a match.”
