Inter Milan could sell Denzel Dumfries and Valentin Carboni in order to finance a move for forward Albert Gudmundsson this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are now really firming up their plans for the summer transfer window.

And there is no doubt that Genoa forward Gudmundsson is one of the Nerazzurri’s top targets.

Inter are already signing one striker this summer – Mehdi Taremi is coming in on a free transfer from Porto.

However, the Iranian will be replacing Alexis Sanchez in the squad, with the former Arsenal veteran on his way out when his contract expires.

Meanwhile, Marko Arnautovic could also leave Inter for the right offer. The Nerazzurri would not mind getting the Austrian’s €3 million net per season wages off of their books.

And even if Arnautovic does not depart, Inter would be ready to sign a fifth senior forward. They want to bolster the strength in depth in attack for the coming season.

Inter Could Sell Dumfries & Carboni To Fund Move For Gudmundsson

Genoa’s Gudmundsson is the player Inter see as ideal in attack. Both for the 26-year-old’s output in attack, and for the fact that he has a profile that is not already in the squad.

However, Gudmundsson won’t come cheap.

Genoa reportedly want between €30 million and €40 million to sell the Icelandic international.

However, there are two major sales that Inter could make that would make a move for Gudmundsson feasible.

One would be of wingback Dumfries.

The Neazzurri are ready to sell the Dutchman should he not extend his contract.

Part of a fee for Dumfries would undoubtedly go towards signing a direct replacement. But not all of it – leaving some for a move for Gudmundsson.

And then Inter would also listen to offers for teenage attacking midfielder Carboni.

The Nerazzurri value the Argentine at around €30 million. This could be enough to get a move for Gudmundsson going.
