Inter Milan Furious With Referees After Controversial 2-2 Serie A Draw Vs Lazio – Rocchi’s Words Only Fuel Anger

Tension is palpable after Lazio held Inter Milan to a controversy-marred 2-2 draw at Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night.

Per Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, frustration within the Nerazzurri camp has reached a boiling point.

Referee Daniele Chiffi dropped the ball in Sunday’s high-stakes clash at Stadio San Siro.

Indeed, his dubious decisions could result in Napoli dethroning Inter in Serie A come Friday.

To describe both Lazio’s goals as ‘questionable’ would be generous.

However, it wasn’t the first time referees had harmed Inter’s Scudetto ambitions this season.

To begin with, Inter lost the Supercoppa Italiana final to AC Milan under controversial circumstances.

Furthermore, a series of questionable refereeing decisions have significantly damaged their Scudetto chances.

When Inter dropped points at Fiorentina in February, Marco Guida penalized Matteo Darmian for a dubious handball.

Then, Chiffi failed to sanction Nicolo Rovella for pushing Yann Bisseck with both hands in the game against Lazio.

Moreover, the same referee refused to award Inter a penalty in the Milan derby for a clear foul on Marcus Thuram.

Finally, there was an incident in a home clash against Bologna, where the Nerazzurri didn’t get another spot-kick.

Therefore, it’s fair to say referees’ 50/50 calls have almost never been in Inter’s favor this term.
