Particularly over the second half of the campaign, Leoni’s form stood out. He was a key player in Parma’s success in the relegation battle under Cristian Chivu.

And now, Cristian Chivu is set to become the new coach of Inter Milan.

Therefore, the Gazzetta report, that will mean a renewed push to sign Leoni from the Nerazzurri.

Clearly, Inter will have to reinvigorate their defense this summer. The future of aging defenders like Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi is uncertain.
