Cristian Chivu aims to lead Inter Milan to the Serie A title this season, just as Massimiliano Allegri did at Juventus in 2015/16.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 45-year-old is looking to emulate the AC Milan coach’s feat from a decade ago.
Cristian Chivu has endured a mixed start to life at San Siro.
Indeed, Inter have already lost three Serie A matches this season, winning the other five.
Despite a 62.5% win ratio, Inter remain firmly in contention for the Scudetto, trailing pacesetters Napoli by only three points.
Massimiliano Allegri is the only manager in modern Serie A history to win the title after losing three times in the first eight rounds.
Indeed, his Juventus side won the Scudetto in 2015/16 despite collecting just eight points from the opening eight rounds.
Interestingly, Inter have already amassed seven more points than the Bianconeri in their trophy-winning campaign.
However, Chivu must help Inter find their footing in high-stakes games.
For context, the San Siro giants have earned only 24 points from their last 19 high-profile matches.
