The Turkish midfielder now finds himself among Serie A’s leading scorers, level with Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini on five goals.

Remarkably, all the top spots in the current scoring charts are held by midfielders, a rare sight in Italy’s top flight.

After a turbulent summer filled with speculation about his future, Calhanoglu has reaffirmed his importance under Cristian Chivu.
