Inter Not Targeting Ter Stegen – Martinez Ready To Replace Sommer

Yesterday, rumours emerged that Marc-Andre Ter Stegen could be Inter’s solution to replace Sommer.

The 33-year-old German international looks to be on his way out at Barcelona. The Catalan giants made a major goalkeeping signing in the form of Joan Garcia, so there’s little room for him.

However, the Corriere dello Sport, there has been no move by Inter to sound out Ter Stegen.

On the contrary, the newspaper anticipate, even if Sommer were to leave, Inter would have little intention of signing the German.

Instead, Inter already have the succession plan in place. Last summer, they signed goalkeeper Josep Martinez to be the eventual replacement for Sommer.

Therefore, if Sommer is to depart, then it will be Josep Martinez who takes his place as starting goalkeeper.
