Inter Milan sent a scout to watch Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile in Friday’s win over Lecce, amid interest from fierce rivals AC Milan.
Both clubs are monitoring the situation of I Sardi’s highly-rated shot-stopper.
However, a report from journalist Nicolo Schira on X revealed that Inter are now actively assessing whether or not he would be a good fit.
Caprile’s side won 2-1 against Lecce on Friday night, with a brace from Andrea Belotti sealing the three points.
Caprile put in a solid display in goal, with not much he could do to prevent Gabriel’s early header from close range.
Both Milan clubs are in a position where their current number one goalkeeper is out of contract next summer.
The Rossoneri are actively searching for a long-term replacement for Mike Maignan.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri prepare for life without Sommer but already have Josep Martinez as a possible option.
However, Inter are closely watching Caprile and could make a move to prevent rivals Milan from snatching him up.
