Ange-Yoan Bonny made his first start for Inter Milan under Cristian Chivu and it could hardly have gone better, as the French forward inspired a 4-1 win over Cremonese with a goal and three assists.
The Italian press was unanimous in its praise, as noted by L’Interista.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (8) hailed him as a revelation: “A goal and three assists – the vice-Thuram delivers a performance worthy of the starter. A clear improvement over Taremi or Arnautovic, here the improvement looks clear.”
Tuttosport (8) wrote: “Full debut, three assists for teammates and a headed goal – hard to imagine a better start.”
Meanwhile L’Interista went even higher with an 8.5 rating, noting:
“First start and he shows he can make his mark for Inter even without being Thuram. One assist, then a poacher’s finish, and two more assists – the third for Barella was pure class.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport: 8
Corriere dello Sport: 8
Tuttosport: 8
L’Interista: 8.5
TMW: 8.5
Bonny’s display marked the perfect response for a player viewed as a long-term project, proving he can already play a major role under Cristian Chivu.
