Kristjan Asllani feels that while the Champions League final is “great” Inter Milan are currently focusing on their last Serie A matches.
The Italian international spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after today’s Serie A win over Torino.
Inter Milan got a huge win in midweek. They beat Barcelona 4-3 in a thrilling and dramatic semifinal second leg in the Champions League.
That saw Inter book their place in the Champions League final. They will face Paris Saint-Germain in Munich at the end of this month.
The Nerazzurri are in the final of Europe’s top club competition for the second time in three years.
Therefore, there is a feeling of wanting to make up for the loss to Manchester City in the final in 2023.
For many, the Champions League final has now become the real priority for Inter.
The Nerazzurri have the chance to win the most prestigious piece of silverware in European club football. They are one match away, and their fate is in their hands.
On the other hand, Inter’s fate is not in their hands in Serie A. They are hoping for Napoli to slip up.
Moreover, Inter have already won the Serie A title last season. On the other hand, for this group of players the Champions League would be something entirely new.
Therefore, the European trophy could become the priority. However, that’s not how midfielder Kristjan Asllani sees it.
“We know that we’ve done something great by reaching the final,” he said.
“But we have to focus on doing our best in the last two matches.”
“Then, we’ll see what happens,” the Albanian international added, having scored from the penalty spot for the second consecutive match against Torino this evening.
