What a season it’s been for Inter Milan. They’ve just secured their twentieth Serie A title and have won the league at a canter.

They Nerazzurri are by far and away the best team in Italy right now. But the success can’t and won’t stop there, and a handful of Inter players will be looking to continue in the same vein of form for Italy this summer.

While football is very much a global game, with players from all over the world plying their trade in diverse squads such as Inter’s, there remains a core of Italians in the first-team group.

A few of them will be heading to Germany this summer to play in the Euros. Italy are the reigning champions and looking to mount a strong defense according to the latest football betting odds. And this will be a positive for both Italy and Inter.

An international tournament such as the European Championships is always going to be of significant importance to Italy. This is because they’re a footballing nation that is expected to compete for honors at this level.

But it’s more significant this time around because they are the defending champions. Luckily for Italy and manager Luciano Spalletti, multiple Inter players will be at his disposal, and they all proved themselves as winners. In tournament football, this can make all the difference.

Inter players such as Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian, Nicolo Barella and Davide Frattesi should all be in Spalletti’s final squad. Moreover, every single one of them will expect to play a role in Germany as the Italian’s chase back-to-back European success.

As mentioned above, the fact that this group of players will arrive as Serie A champions is a massive positive, as their winner’s mentality could prove crucial, especially during testing moments.

What can’t be underestimated either is what these players have been part of with Inter in their Serie A success this season.

At the time of writing, this is a team that has only lost twice in Italy’s top flight, with three matches remaining.

Again, this is perfect for tournament football, where teams will be looking to win every game in the group before it becomes a must-win scenario for every match after that. Italy face Spain, Croatia and Albania in Group B, which won’t be an easy group to navigate.

We must not underestimate what the performances of Bastoni, Dimarco, Darmian, Barella and Frattesi at the Euros could mean for Inter.

After a long Juventus reign in Serie A, Inter are looking to be the dominant force moving forward and know they could very well be that.

Having a handful of Italians return this summer, having won Serie A last term and then helped win back-to-back European Championships for Italy, would stand the club in great stead ahead of the 2024/25 season, a season where Inter could then make it back to back league triumphs.
