Inter Milan are still struggling to offload defender Tomas Palacios, as talks for a loan to Santos have fallen through.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 23-year-old has decided to reject the Brazilian club.
Inter Milan have been looking to offload defender Tomas Palacios this summer.
The Nerazzurri only just signed the Argentine last summer. However, since arriving at the club, he has never really looked convincing.
Meanwhile, Palacios spent the second half of last season on loan with Monza.
A few potential destinations have emerged for Palacios this summer.
The Argentine had reportedly been close to joining Swiss side Basel on loan with a purchase option. However, that move collapsed at the final stages.
Meanwhile, the likes of Rayo Vallecano and Eintracht Frankfurt had also shown an interest in the 23-year-old, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.
Then, Brazilian giants Santos had recently appeared to be on the verge of signing Palacios. They had agreed a deal to sign the Argentine on loan with a €10 million purchase option and 30% sell-on fee.
However, the Gazzetta confirm, Palacios has rejected this move in the end.
Santos coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda and winger Neymar have both called Palacios to try and convince him. However, the player has made up his mind.
Therefore, this has left Inter scrambling to find a solution in the final days of the transfer window.
