The Inter management and head coach Simone Inzaghi are due to sit down immediately after the Champions League final to discuss their futures together, while recent reports suggest that Como’s Cesc Fabregas is being lined up as a potential replacement in the event that there is a change in the Nerazzurri dugout this summer.

Inzaghi is currently busy preparing for the Champions League final between Inter and Paris Saint-Germain taking place at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday night.

The Nerazzurri tactician gave a fairly blunt response when asked about his future during his press conference on Monday’s media day, given that he has a fairly significant final to concentrate on for the time being.

There have, however, been reports that Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are prepared to offer Inzaghi an enormous €30m-per-season contract in an attempt to lure him away from Serie A.

Inzaghi has admitted that he has received offers from numerous clubs, both in Italy and abroad, but adds that he has a ‘great relationship’ with the Inter board and that he is happy to stay under certain conditions.

Inter-Inzaghi meeting set, Fabregas alternative

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, there is now a date in the diary for the crucial talks between Inter and head coach Inzaghi, which will take place a couple of days after the Champions League final on June 2.

Tuesday’s report claims that Inter already have a list of potential alternatives in place in the event that Inzaghi does decide to leave.

Among them is Vincenzo Italiano, who is, however, close to signing a new contract with Bologna.

There have also been mentions of Massimiliano Allegri, who has also been approached for the vacancies with both Milan and Napoli.

Calciomercato claims that Fabregas remains an enticing option for the Nerazzurri. The Spaniard has been subject of serious interest from both Roma and Bayer Leverkusen this season.

His ability to work with and develop young talents, including the likes of Nico Paz, Assand Diao and Alex Valle, is one of the main reasons why Inter and the club ownership admire the former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder.
