Inter look increasingly likely to enter the summer market for at least one new centre-back, with both Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij out of contract next year, nearing the end of their cycles in Lombardy.
Club President Beppe Marotta and his team have already begun assessing potential successors, and one of the names back on their list is Barcelona’s Eric Garcia, as per reports from Sportal.
The Spaniard, previously linked with Inter in past windows, is approaching the end of his contract at Camp Nou.
While Garcia has held initial discussions with Barça about an extension, no agreement has been reached, leaving his future wide open as the season approaches its final stretch.
Inter are monitoring the situation closely as they map out their defensive rebuild, viewing Garcia as a profile capable of fitting seamlessly into Cristian Chivu’s system should he become available on favourable terms.
With Acerbi and De Vrij expected to leave the club at the end of their contracts, the Nerazzurri are in the market for reinforcements.
