A new dawn is rising in the capital of fashion as Inter embark on a new chapter in the club’s storied history following Oaktree’s takeover. On the same night the Nerazzurri ‘Tifosi’ paid tribute to the outgoing president Steven Zhang, manager Simone Inzaghi vowed to hold a comprehensive meeting with the new leadership.

Inter and Hellas Verona shared the spoils in Serie A season finale’s dead-rubber affair at Marc’Antonio Bentegodi as Marko Arnautovic’s first-half double inspired the new champions to a 2-2 draw. The result was nothing short of irrelevant, but what lies down the line makes every Nerazzurri fan anxious.

Whether Oaktree would trigger some changes at Giuseppe Meazza remains to be seen. But the Inter manager won’t stand still and wait to find out in mid-summer. Instead, he promised to take the initiative and compel the new owners to sit around the table and discuss the club’s future as early as Tuesday.

But first, Inzaghi showed appreciation for Zhang.

I had a great relationship with the Zhang family, especially with Steven. He was a great help, a precious president, always present,” the Inter coach told Gazzetta dello Sport

Inzaghi afterward opened up on the upcoming meeting with the Oaktree representatives.

Now there is a new ownership. I will meet them on Tuesday: they are enthusiastic, and there will be several steps. On Tuesday, with Marotta, Ausilio, Baccin, and Zanetti, we will get to know each other and talk. We’ll understand the plans, I’ll get to know them personally,” the Inter boss concluded.
