Chelsea host Fulham at Stamford Bridge today in the Premier League, looking to make it six unbeaten under Enzo Maresca.
The Blues were impressive in last week’s 5-1 win over West Ham, with Estêvão Willian and João Pedro leading the line. But they will be without one of their key players as Cole Palmer is out injured.
Palmer picked up a groin problem in the warm-up before Chelsea’s win over West Ham and was withdrawn minutes before kick-off. Manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that he is not fit to face Fulham and described his situation as “day-to-day” thing.
He’s also been ruled out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers so both club and country are focusing on getting him back on track.
In his absence, Chelsea will be counting on Estêvão and João Pedro to provide the attacking spark at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea confirmed Palmer’s issue is a groin strain which is not a long-term problem. The medical team's rehabilitation is being managed cautiously, and they are hopeful he can return after the international break, if, his rehabilitation continues to go as planned.
For now he’s out of full training and Maresca confirmed that the club will not rush him back. The approach is to avoid aggravating the injury in what’s shaping up to be a busy season.
Palmer’s absence is a blow but Chelsea have cover in the short term. Taking a cautious approach is the right decision to get him back fit to lead the Blues in the upcoming months.
