LAFC is looking to get back on track tonight as they host the Houston Dynamo at the BMO Stadium.
Following a tough exit from the CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinals against Toluca earlier this week, the Black & Gold are shifting their focus back to the MLS.
With the 2026 World Cup break approaching, securing points at home has become a priority for Marc Dos Santos’ side as they try to climb the Western Conference standings.
Son Heung-Min has been a key part of the LAFC offense this year. Although the 33-year-old is still looking for his first MLS goal of 2026, he has made a major impact on the team by leading the league with eight assists.
To keep up with the tough schedule, the Korean star had been rested in two key MLS matches in 2026 to keep him fresh for the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Son played the full 90 minutes against Toluca as LAFC suffered a 0–4 defeat. Despite winning the first leg 2–1, the loss resulted in a 2–5 aggregate score, ending the club's run in the tournament.
Additionally, in the last MLS game against San Diego FC he started on the bench. Son later came on as a substitute in the 59th minute and provided an assist in the 2–2 draw.
Son Heung-Min will most likely start in tonight’s match since he came through the midweek game without any reported injury concerns and is a key player for this matchup.
