Vancouver Whitecaps hosts Minnesota United on Sunday, March 15, at 4:30 p.m. ET on matchday four of the MLS. Thomas Müller is set to start.
Müller, 36, has started in Vancouver's first three league matches this season and is expected to start again against Minnesota.
This game is particularly special because it could represent the German's reunion with his former teammate at Bayern Munich, James Rodríguez.
Rodríguez, 34, signed with Minnesota United in early February as a free agent after ending his contract with Liga MX side Club León. The Colombian has not yet debuted in the MLS, but is expected to finally do so against the Whitecaps.
According to Transfermarkt, Rodríguez has played 376 matches in national leagues, scored 103 goals, and recorded 119 assists.
He has played 53 matches in domestic cups, scoring 12 goals and providing 21 assists. In international cups, he has played 83 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing 20 assists. Throughout his entire career, he has scored 31 winning goals.
On the other hand, Müller records 606 appearances in national leagues, registering 202 goals and 219 assists.
In domestic cups, he has played 80 times, scoring 42 goals and providing 29 assists, while in international cups, he has played 177 matches, scoring 59 goals and providing 37 assists. Throughout his entire career, he has recorded 94 winning goals.
