The countdown is on, with Vanja Milinkovic-Savic waiting for the all-clear to undergo Napoli medicals, as Torino secure Franco Israel from Sporting CP, with a Juventus profit on top.

As we have been explaining for a while in our exclusive, the only sticking point for Milinkovic-Savic to join Napoli was waiting for Torino to get his replacement locked down.

That is now coming to a head too, because Toro are whittling down the final details to bring in Israel from Sporting CP.

Israel key to unlocking Milinkovic-Savic

The cost of the operation is going to be around €4.5-5m including add-ons for the 25-year-old Uruguay international.

Curiously, Torino’s city rivals Juventus will be pocketing half of that fee, because they retained a 50 per cent cut of the future sale when sending Israel to Sporting in the summer of 2022.

At the time, he was part of their Juve Next Gen youth squad and was sold for just €648,000.
