'It is a dream' – Defender hyped for one aspect of this weekend’s cup final

Axel Disasi is fast becoming a fan favourite at Chelsea, and he has the chance to enhance that reputation even more with a good performance in the Carabao Cup final this weekend.

He’s already been explaining how excited he is by the prospect of getting to play at Wembley, something he’s clearly been looking forward to for some time. He’s developing a great partnership with Levi Colwill at the back for Chelsea, something we’re hoping to see repeated on Sunday, and he’s clearly friendly with his fellow centre back off the field too:

“I’ve never played at Wembley,” 25-year-old Disasi said of Wembley.

“But I visited this stadium with my school when we visited London for the weekend. I think it was a West Ham game. It was great, very nice. The stadium was very big. Colwill and Chilwell have told me the stadium is very great.

“I am excited. It will be great to play there. It is a dream to play there and in every big stadium in the world, and to have the opportunity to win the first title since coming here.”

Both face a massive test this weekend against Liverpool’s dangerous attack, and both will be aware that Chelsea are developing quite the horror-record at home in games at the national stadium.

These guys weren’t with us for those games though, so they have a chance at a fresh start and to begin a new record.
