Multiple sources claim Vincenzo Italiano has agreed to extend his contract with Bologna until 2027, despite interest from Milan.

Italiano met the Bologna directors this morning, and according to Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta, he agreed to extend his contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara until 2027.

Italiano’s contract was due to expire in June 2026, but he has now agreed to extend the agreement by one more season, receiving a pay rise.

The details behind Italiano’s new Bologna contract

According to reports, Italiano will earn €3m per season, including add-ons and has been reassured that the club will aim to battle for Europe again in the coming years.

The Rossoblu sold Joshua Zirkzee and Riccardo Calafiori last summer but still remained competitive under Italiano, battling for a top-four finish until the final games of the season and winning the Coppa Italia, the club’s first major trophy in 51 years.

Italiano was among Milan’s targets to replace Sergio Conceiçao, and according to Sky Sport Italia, even Inter were concerned by talks between the 47-year-old and his club, given that Simone Inzaghi’s future is uncertain.
