Bologna offered Vincenzo Italiano a new contract today that would run until 2028, with reports they are eager to continue together, but Milan could change that with a strong proposal.
As expected, the Rossoblu met with agent Francesco Caliandro today to discuss Italiano’s status at the Stadio Dall’Ara.
He is under contract until June 2026 anyway, but Bologna are eager to lock him down with a new deal that runs to June 2028.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, this was only an intermediary encounter in which no decisions were made.
The general consensus was that Italiano is content to continue with Bologna after a successful first season in charge, which culminated in winning the Coppa Italia after a 51-year wait.
However, this is also because Milan have not yet made a formal approach for the tactician, as first they need to appoint a new director of sport, expected to be Igli Tare.
If the San Siro giants were to make their intentions clear, it might sway Italiano into reconsidering his next career step.
