Legendary Italian striker Ciccio Graziani urges Inter Milan to send Francesco Pio Esposito out on loan for the greater benefit of all parties.

The 20-year-old forward is the youngest of three siblings who rose through the Nerazzurri’s youth ranks. His older brother, Samuele, is a midfielder who has already left the nest and currently plays for Spezia. Middle child, Sebastiano, is a versatile striker who spent the previous season on loan at Empoli.

Nevertheless, many believe that Francesco Pio is the most promising of the trio. The youngster is a physically imposing marksman with an eye for goal.

The striker spent the last two campaigns on loan at Spezia, playing alongside his brother, Samuele. However, he is now expected to stay at Appiano Gentile as part of Cristian Chivu’s squad.

Therefore, fans and observers are curious to see how the Italy U21 starlet will fare in his maiden Serie A campaign. Nerazzurri fans will be able to track his numbers as well as the rest of the team’s in addition to Inter stats, results and fixtures on this link.

However, Esposito might struggle for playing time at San Siro. After all, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram should maintain their roles as the club’s main attacking duo.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri brought in Ange-Yoan Bonny, while Mehdi Taremi remains on the books for now.

And let’s not forget that Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are vigorously pursuing Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman.

Therefore, Graziani argues that Esposito would be better off spending the campaign on loan at another Serie A club.

“Esposito isn’t a hair away from Thuram and Lautaro. Right now, they are worlds apart,” said the 1982 World Cup winner in his interview with Radio Sportiva via FcInterNews.

“The boy is 20 years old, he needs to play, and he wouldn’t be a good alternative, even if he could learn a lot from Lautaro and Thuram.

“Logic, however, tells me it would be better to loan him out for a year to a Serie A club and then bring him back to Inter on a permanent basis.”

Nevertheless, reports in the Italian press insist that Inter have decided to bet on the young bomber next season.

Esposito managed to impress during the FIFA Club World Cup campaign. Therefore, the management is convinced that he can make a difference already.
