The French national football team awaits the possibility of Warren Zaire-Emery making history. After his first call-up to the senior squad, the teenager could appear in the starting 11 immediately.

Despite being 17 years old, Zaire-Emery is impressing his new teammates. One of them to recently praise the teenager is Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano.

For Upamecano, the young Parisian has “a head on his shoulders.” He advises him to stay as he is and everything will be fine.

“Zaire-Emery is a player who has his head on his shoulders; he has already made more than 40 matches with Paris,” Upamecano told reporters on Thursday (h/t Paris Fans). “At his age, it’s incredible. He has to stay as he is in Paris, and it will slide by itself.”

If he takes the field against Gibraltar, as anticipated, Zaire-Emery will break a longstanding record to become the youngest French international player since 1945.

Zaire-Emery’s potential inclusion in the starting lineup reflects the trust the coaching staff and team management have in his abilities. The teenager has already earned the trust of PSG manager Luis Enrique.

As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he soon began earning that level of trust from manager Didier Deschamps.
