'It’s not discipline' – Mauricio Pochettino protects his players yet again

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has refused to draw into criticism of his players once again after another defeat this season saw them sitting in 10th spot in the Premier League.

Just when you think Chelsea are on a bit of a run to get some momentum going, they go and lose a game that they should not be losing once again.

The players were very poor in their 2-1 defeat against Wolves on Christmas Eve, but Pochettino refused to blame his young squad and deflected anything away from them.

He has done that yet again as well with some latest comments that have emerged regarding the discipline of his players.

A few players got booked for kicking the ball away or chatting back at the Referee on Sunday, and one of them was Cole Palmer.

In words cited by The Daily Mail this morning, Pochettino was asked whether he is facing a discipline problem with his players right now. He responded: “Palmer is playing for us his first season as a regular. It´s normal. The players care, they want to win, they are frustrated. It´s not discipline. We need to have more the capacity to read the situation of the game.”
