Michael Carrick’s operation at Manchester United is just getting underway as he begins the start of his permanent spell as manager of the club.
Having taken United into the Champions League places, Carrick will now carry the team into Europe next season whilst leading the side in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.
United’s array of talent, within the squad, is undeniable and could be something that the former Middlesbrough manager looks to benefit from in the upcoming season.
With the transfer window still open until the beginning of September, however, the club could look to add further quality in positions of need.
Midfield may be one of these with Alex Scott and Andrey Santos both linked with moves to Old Trafford.
Away from the transfer market, though, the club could look towards the youth academy for further depth.
Now, in a move that prepares for the future, Jacey Carrick has signed with Manchester United as an academy scholar, the next big step in his journey to becoming a professional footballer.
Posting on Instagram, he published a photo alongside Kai Rooney holding a shirt with his name on alongside 26.
The youngster, son of manager Michael Carrick, has impressed previously with some considering him amongst the best in his respective age group last season.
Carrick was also a part of the Under-16s side that won the Premier League Shield last season after beating Burnley in the final.
Jacey Carrick joins many other talented players in signing a scholarship with the Red Devils including Gazik Ibragimov and Edson DeJonge-Seiros.
Each player has been given the chance by Manchester United to prove themselves and to push onto higher levels, something that will be at the centre of focus in the coming season.
