Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United chapter has officially closed, but the former Red is still waiting for clarity over where his career goes next.

The winger left Old Trafford as a free agent after his contract expired, bringing an underwhelming spell in Manchester to an end.

Jadon Sancho joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 with huge expectations, but never consistently produced the numbers expected of him.

Across 83 appearances for the club, the England international managed just 12 goals and 6 assists.

His final years at United were complicated by loan spells and uncertainty over his place in the squad, including a temporary move to Aston Villa.

Sancho helped Villa win the Europa League during his latest loan spell, but the club decided against making the move permanent.

Serie A club rejects Jadon Sancho

And now, another potential destination has disappeared from the list, with Fiorentina deciding against pursuing Sancho despite previously being linked with a three-year offer.

Sancho’s agent had offered the 26-year-old to the Italian side, but Fiorentina ultimately chose not to proceed, reportedly because they have other priorities and have concerns over the winger’s recent form, as reported by Alfredo Pedulla.

The situation leaves Jadon Sancho continuing his search for another club after his United contract came to an end.

Chelsea had also opted against making his move permanent following his loan spell there, choosing to pay a fine instead of completing a permanent deal.

Since returning to United following his Chelsea loan, Sancho was not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans and subsequently spent another season away from Old Trafford.

There have previously been reports that Sancho had reached agreements in principle with several clubs, with potential suitors coming from across Europe, Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East.

For now, the former United man has been keeping himself fit at Flixton FC while he waits for the right opportunity.

With Fiorentina now seemingly out of the picture, Sancho’s next move remains firmly up in the air.
