Jadon Sancho wanted by third-tier club

Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United career will go down as one of the club’s most expensive transfer disappointments of the modern era.

United spent around £73 million bringing Sancho back to England from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 after he had developed into one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers.

The performances that convinced United to spend so heavily never translated consistently to Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho scored just 12 goals across 83 appearances for the club, a remarkable drop-off from the player who had terrorised Bundesliga defences.

His relationship with United deteriorated further following a public dispute with Erik ten Hag in 2023, after which he was removed from first-team contention.

A loan return to Dortmund followed, where he helped them reach the Champions League final.

However, even that revival was not enough to rescue his United career.

Chelsea then borrowed Sancho for 2024/25 before paying United to avoid completing a permanent deal, while Aston Villa became his next temporary destination.

Villa also chose against keeping him following a disappointing campaign, and United eventually released Sancho when his contract expired at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Third-tier club want to sign Jadon Sancho

According to the Daily Mirror, ambitious Dubai-based Arabian Falcons are preparing an approach to sign Sancho as a free agent.

The move would represent another extraordinary step in a career which, only five years ago, saw United commit a huge transfer fee to making him a central part of their attack.

Arabian Falcons play in the third tier of UAE football and are building a project containing several names familiar to Premier League supporters.

Former Liverpool and Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is managing the Falcons.

Meanwhile, former United academy defender and Leicester City title winner Danny Simpson is operating as a player-coach.

There is another particularly familiar face already there.

Former Manchester United wonderkid Ravel Morrison joined the Falcons and has since been made club captain, with the Mirror reporting that they hope their Dubai base and facilities can help convince Sancho to follow him.

For a player once valued among Europe’s brightest attacking talents, dropping into UAE’s lower divisions would underline just how dramatically Sancho’s career has changed since leaving Dortmund for United.
