JSP and Osmand in the Celtic B side playing East Fife in the KDM Evolution Trophy is further proof of Celtic board’s unhelpful interference in football matters…

Michael Nicholson smugly shrugged his shoulders after being confronted about Brendan Rodgers ‘claims’ that players were signed without his say so, and yet another perfect example of this ‘claim’ was laid bare in last night’s 5-3 defeat against East Fife.

Stephen McManus’s side slumped to a 5-3 defeat at East Fife in yet another disappointing display from the Celtic B Team, this time  in the KDM Evolution Trophy match against East Fife

I’m not here to preach about the result as winning at youth level or B level is not the main goal, development of players is the main objective, and present in last night’s line up were two summer signings Callum Osmand and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey who haven’t had a sniff of first team action since the start of the campaign.

Callum arrived as a highly regarded player after impressing in the EPL reserve league with Fulham, similar to Jahmai who was player of the year at that level for Man City, and unlike Callum had sampled first team football with City in the EPL and also in the Champions League.

But both players have been regularly over looked by the Irishman so far, providing yet more proof, if you need any that both players were signed over the head of the manager, or as he Brendan termed it himself: ‘club signings’.

Dear  knows what Callum must be thinking, having being touted as a future star only to be thrown into surroundings such as Bayview, or Jahmai who was sent up here to aid with his ‘development’…not playing for Celtic in the Champions League (no laughing at the back) but for the Celtic B team conceding five goals in a Friday night cup-tie against East Fife.

Of course, it’s not the fault of the young Celtic players, but it is yet another example of the Celtic board’s interference in football related matters.

What must Manchester City make of this?
