Manchester United’s season has taken a major turn since Michael Carrick stepped into the dugout on an interim basis earlier this year, with the club climbing into the Premier League’s top three and sealing Champions League qualification.
The improvement in performances has lifted spirits around Old Trafford and there is growing optimism that United can build serious momentum heading into next season with several reinforcements expected to arrive in the summer window.
While preparations continue for the new campaign, a number of United players are also beginning to make appearances away from football as the off-season slowly approaches.
One player now confirmed for a major event later this month is Mason Mount, who has been invited to take part in the 2026 edition of the The Maddison Invitational, as announced on the tournaments Instagram page.
The annual charity golf event, organised by James Maddison, will return on May 26 at The Centurion Club and once again features a host of footballers, celebrities and sports personalities.
The tournament was launched in 2023 and has grown into one of football’s most recognised charity events, using an 18-hole pro-am format to raise money for important causes.
Its first edition supported Sophie’s Sparkle Fund, a charity established in memory of Sophie Taylor to help fund bone cancer research and family support initiatives.
In 2024, the fundraiser backed Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, before expanding its charitable reach even further in 2025 by supporting Ladybug Lodge, Me & Dee and Tiny Tim’s.
Mason Mount joins a lengthy guest list for this year’s event that also includes Paddy McGuinness, Joe Hart, Theo Walcott, Peter Crouch, Morgan Gibbs-White and Harvey Barnes.
Archie Gray, Dan Bradbury, Wes Nelson, Luke Thomas, Chris Hughes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Marc Albrighton, Matty Cash and Jermaine Jenas are also among the names invited.
The United midfielder has endured another frustrating season due to injuries and has struggled for regular minutes at Old Trafford.
Despite that, Mount has remained active away from the pitch and last month organised a special Wishes United FC event alongside Make-A-Wish UK.
The England international personally funded and managed a two-day football experience at St George’s Park for 11 children living with serious health conditions, with the youngsters taking part in a match against Premier League mascots.
Mount also secured a new sponsorship agreement back in March after signing with Mizuno as one of the company’s football ambassadors.
Mount will now be hoping he can finally put his injury troubles behind him and enjoy a much bigger role for Manchester United next season.
