Casemiro has been a key part of Manchester United’s set-up this season, with the Brazilian international featuring 23 times for the Red Devils so far this season, including 22 times in the Premier League.

In the league this season, the midfielder has scored five times whilst providing two assists to the side, helping United to pick up key points during the campaign so far.

Meanwhile, he has also created 21 chances whilst winning 107 duels and making 52 tackles helping Manchester United at both sides of the field.

However, prior to this good spell, he received criticism from a number of people.

One of these people was Jamie Carragher who stated in 2024 that the “football has left him” when speaking about Casemiro whilst conducting punditary duties.

Now, following his performance against Fulham, Carragher has issued an apology to the midfielder.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, the former Liverpool star stated: “It is now fair to say that the football has not left him considering what he’s producing this season in the Premier League.

“Listen, credit to him. He looks a completely different player. He looks a different player physically as well.

“When I said that [leave the football before the football leaves you], you looked at him and he looked like an old man coming to the end of his time as a player.

“Now he’s been ultra professional, physically looks completely different.”

With Carragher now heaping praise on Casemiro, it appears that the former Liverpool player has gone back on previous criticism.

Now, United supporters may look towards Casemiro to see if he responds to Carragher’s praise.

Furthermore, fans may look towards the midfielder to see if he can make an impact in the closing stages of his Manchester United career, following the announcement of his departure earlier this year.
