Former Chelsea player Jason Cundy has described Reece James as a “bulldozer” with the “touch of a ballet dancer.”

James has put his injury issues behind him, and the 26-year-old has registered eight goal contributions this season.

The club captain has excelled at both right back and in midfield, and will play a key role between now and the end of the season.

Jason Cundy praises Reece James

Chelsea take on PSG in Paris on Wednesday night in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, in what is a repeat of the Club World Cup final.

There was some concern after James wasn’t seen in training on Monday, but he was pictured taking part in the open training session on Tuesday morning, and Chelsea have continued to manage his minutes.

Whether James plays at right back or in midfield, he’ll have a key role to play against the holders, and speaking ahead of the game, Cundy was full of praise for the England international.

“He makes the hard things look so easy,” he told talkSPORT.

“When he played Arsenal he was easing players out, bringing the ball down under his spell and turning and playing passes.

“Technically, he’s such a gifted player. Physically, he knows how to use that frame. I described him on Chelsea TV as a bulldozer with the touch of a ballet dancer.

“He’s got that. Then he brings it down and makes everything look so effortless. He’s so good. He’s such a wonderful player.”

Chelsea hope Levi Colwill will play this season

With James seemingly over his injury issues, Levi Colwill continues to recover from an ACL injury he suffered before the start of the season.

Colwill was seen in Chelsea’s open training session on Tuesday, and it’s believed Chelsea hope he will play again before the end of the season.

One thing the Blues won’t do is rush him back, and with nine games remaining in the league, it still feels a long shot that he’ll feature this season.
