JJ Gabriel’s rise through the Manchester United academy’s ranks has been sensational already, despite him being only 15-year-old.

Already nicknamed “Kid Messi”, Gabriel has been one to watch for some time, with United determined to keep their man.

This season, the 15-year-old was promoted to the Under-18s side, becoming the youngest player to play for the team in the club’s history.

Not happy with only that record, Gabriel scored a brace in their clash with Middlesbrough in his second game for the side, making him the Under-18s side’s youngest ever goalscorer.

Next game, taking on Derby County, the talented teenager scores a first-half hat-trick to help the side win 4-0.

Needless to say, he’s an incredible talent, with amazing potential still to be tapped into.

However, today’s match with West Bromwich Albion wasn’t as positive for the youngster as he received a straight red in the 54th minute.

Things got off to a strong start for United, with braces from Louie Bradbury and Jay McEvoy putting them 4-0 up by half-time.

Then in the second-half, West Brom fought back with Charlie Blackshields scoring from a long-range effort.

Unfortunately then disaster struck for JJ Gabriel as he was show a straight red just after the goal for fouling Harry French, who was also later sent off for dissent.

For Gabriel, this means he’s set to miss the next tie in the Premier League Cup, as The Red Devils are set to face Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and either Peterborough United or Crystal Palace, as the final four teams in the tournament.
