With Oliver Giroud confirming his exit, Milan have started to accelerate in their search for a new striker and have put Lille’s Jonathan David at the top of their wish list.

The French veteran publicly announced his plans to leave the Rossoneri on a free transfer in the summer, heading off to the MLS to join Los Angeles FC, giving him one final adventure in his storied career.

Milan have long been looking for a new number nine to lead the squad and have considered a number of options ahead of the summer, including Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

Jonathan David attracts Milan

Page 19 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Jonathan David has started to become the leading candidate in Milan’s search for a new striker, with his lower price tag and impressive work at Lille starting to convince those in the Lombardy capital.
