Jose Mourinho offered to former club

Jose Mourinho has been offered to one of his former clubs amid speculation surrounding a potential return in the last few weeks.

Mourinho, who has managed at a number of clubs across a long and elusive career, has opened the door to a return to former clubs in a recent press conference where he refused to confirm that he would be at Benfica next season.

The Portuguese manager has now been offered to Real Madrid, according to Spanish outlet AS, who have revealed that the 63-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes has offered the Spanish club the possibility of a return.

AS also stated that Mendes has revealed Mourinho’s release clause to Real Madrid as the end of the season approaches.

Real Madrid’s current managerial picture

Madrid are out of the Champions League following their defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and look unlikely to win LaLiga given the nine-point gap that exists at the summit of the league between the two sides.

AS have stated that current manager Alvaro Arbeloa will face a decision over his future in the final month of the season although the current situation is shaping up for the 43-year-old to depart.

Mourinho is one of five options that could take the helm for next season.

Alongside him, however, names such as Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann, Massimilano Allegri, Jurgen Klopp, and Didier Deschamps are present.

The competition, therefore, is varied, but undeniably talented and experienced.

Madrid will face a tough decision on who to approach for their next appointment although success in the appointment is arguably imperative if the club are to succeed next season.

Jose Mourinho could be the answer for the club although only time will tell as those at the top of Real Madrid dictate their next move.
