Josh Dyson officially signs for Manchester United

Over the last two years, Manchester United have had a keen focus not only on strengthening their first team, but also ensuring it’s strength long-term.

The club’s recruitment strategy under INEOS has been to target players under the age of 26, with impressive potential to slot into the first squad, or be a part of the Red Devils of tomorrow.

Benjamin Sesko, Senne Lammens, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven and Matthijs de Ligt are all examples of this strategy, while other stars have been recruited for the club’s future.

In the club’s academy players like Chido Obi, Samuel Lusale, Diego Leon and Harley Emsden-James are all examples of young stars with untapped potential ready to be developed to lead at Old Trafford over the coming years.

Now, the club have recruited another youngster in the form of Josh Dyson.

Manchester United organise “signing day” for Josh Dyson

The new signing was confirmed by the youngster’s coach taking to Instagram to celebrate the achievement, commenting: “Josh signs for MUFC”

The post continued: “Big well done to mr Dyson on his special day signing for Manchester United.

“Trains like a king, does his hair like a king & smiles like a king – deserves every bit of succes.

“Really proud of you mate.”

The caption accompanied a carousel of images including photos of Josh Dyson signing his new contract at Old Trafford with the Stretford end seen clearly in the background.

Alongside this was an image of a mocked-up Sky Sports-style breaking news report of his signing and the youngster stood next to a Manchester United reading “Welcome to signing day 4th May 2026” as he held a United shirt with his name and the number 26 on the back.

While it’s expected to be several years before he starts to make waves at the club due to his age, this marks the start of the youngster’s journey towards stepping out at Old Trafford.
