Jurgen Klopp says he will leave Liverpool in 2024

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he will leave the reigning European and English Premier League champions when his contract expires in 2024.

As noted by ESPN, Klopp confirmed that he wishes to return to Germany in four years while speaking with SWR Sport.

Klopp left Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund to sign for the English outfit in October 2015. He guided Liverpool to a Europa League Final, a pair of Champions League Finals, a European championship, and the Premier League title. Per Caught Offside, Liverpool became the first English side to win the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup treble.

Liverpool dominated the English top-flight and held a 25-point advantage atop the table when football competitions throughout Europe halted play in March because of the coronavirus pandemic. They clinched the league title on June 25.

As mentioned by ESPN, the Reds will set a Premier League points record if they win the final three games on their domestic calendar. They play Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United between July 15 and July 26.
