Inter Milan suffered a 4-3 loss at the hands of Juventus yesterday evening, with the Gazzetta dello Sport criticising goalkeeper Yann Sommer and praising midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in their player ratings.
The ratings, published by the Italian newspaper, via FcInterNews, reveal a mixed bag of performances from the Nerazzurri.
It was a closely-fought and tumultuous game.
Both teams led at various moments, with Cristian Chivu’s Inter 3-2 up heading into the last ten minutes.
However, two late goals for the Bianconeri allowed them to claim the three points.
In the Gazzetta’s ratings, Calhanoglu was by far and away the highest rated.
The newspaper awarded the talismanic midfielder an 8 after his brace and strong performance.
At the other end of the scale, however, the outlet were critical of several Inter players.
Yann Sommer received the lowest rating, awarded a 4 after failing to save any of his 4 shots faced.
Meanwhile, Gazzetta rated Marcus Thuram a 6.5, and Acerbi, Carlos Augusto, Zielinski and Bonny all received 6s.
Akanji, Bastoni, Mkhitaryan and Dimarco were presented with 5.5 ratings from the newspaper whilst Dumfries, Barella and Chivu received a 5.
Inter’s second-worst player last night was captain Lautaro Martinez, given a 4.5 after a slow performance.
