Juventus is in the market for a new manager.
The Serie A side has fired Maurizio Sarri after being knocked out of the Champions League on Friday, the team announced Saturday. Although Juve beat Lyon 2-1, they were knocked out of the Champions League on the away-goal rule.
Sarri led the club to their ninth consecutive Serie A title, though their performance during the end of the season landed them with just 83 points, their lowest total since the 2011-12 season.
Juventus suffered five losses and two draws against three wins since July 4.
Sarri's club also disappointed in the cup with defeats in the Coppa Italia final on penalties to Napoli and the Suppercoppa Italia to Lazio 3-1.
Sarri became the manager of Juventus in August 2019 after just one season with Premier League side Chelsea. The 61-year-old also previously coached for Napoli and Serie B side Empoli.
It remains to be seen who will step in as the next Juventus manager, though the club certainly will be looking for a far stronger leader than Sarri.
