Juventus Hope to Agree to More Cost-Effective Contracts

Juventus are negotiating several renewals and would like to change course and stop handing out large wages to buy players or keep their own. That won’t be easy since a few of their stars are due to new contracts, especially Adrien Rabiot and Federico Chiesa, TuttoSport informs (via OneFootball).

The Frenchman’s deal expires on June 30^th, and he expressed his desire to wait.

“I haven’t decided anything. I stayed last year despite not playing in the cups, which was an important choice. We should be back in the Champions League and will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup next season. I consider and ponder on these things. I’ll discuss it with the management at the end of the season. It’s a key step in my career. It’ll be important to make the right choice. It should happen before the Euro so I’ll be more serene once it starts.”

Rabiot makes €7M, and Juventus hope to shave his salary a little by agreeing to a multi-year contract.

The front office wishes to do the same with Dusan Vlahovic, whose wages will balloon to €12M. Instead, Chiesa earns €5M and would like a pay raise. His and Wojciech Szczesny’s deals run out in 2025.

They’ll have to be ready to lose players if they are determined in such an intent, but they’ll probably do it mostly around the fringes. Still, it’s more logical and sustainable than cashing in on talents.
