Juventus continue their quest for Bosman signings and added Lorenzo Pellegrini to their target list, while their chase of Marcos Senesi has hit a snag. The competition is perhaps stiffer than they anticipated.
According to TuttoSport (via Calciomercato), the Old Lady has touched base with the Roma stalwart’s camp as of late. He’d have to accept a significant pay cut to stay put. Instead, the Bianconeri could be a little more lavish. He’s having a bounce-back season under Gian Piero Gasperini, registering 5 goals and 3 assists in 27 seasonal appearances.
While the pursuit of Pellegrini is in its early stages, Juventus recently sent their first written proposal to Senesi, Corriere dello Sport reports (via Mediaset). The center-back is likely to depart Bournemouth on a free. However, he has several suitors and asks for €5M wages. The Bianconeri can get there if they wish to, but they have to weigh it against their internal balances and their payroll.
Per Matteo Moretto (via SOSFanta), the parties are in constant communication, but the Old Lady’s proposal is inferior to those coming from the Premier League. Tottenham and Aston Villa are ahead of them in the race at the moment.
The former is much maligned, and his role is a little too prominent in the Giallorossi’s design, although injuries have played a big part in that, but he’d be a fine backup no.10 at this stage of his career. As for the defender, they’ll have to decide whether that’s really a priority and treat it accordingly. They could go the extra mile if they consider him a clear upgrade over Lloyd Kelly.
