Andrea Cambiaso is pushing to return from injury in next weekend’s Serie A clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that if the 24-year-old cannot be fit against the Nerazzurri, he’ll aim for the match against PSV in the Champions League.
Juventus have been without fullback Cambiaso for a couple weeks now.
The 24-year-old former Genoa defender has been a key player for the Bianconeri this season. However, he has also dealt with a couple ankle problems.
Therefore, Cambiaso will miss at least one more match for Juventus. He will be on the sidelines against PSV this week in the first of a Champions League round of sixteen playoff tie.
But then Juventus’s next match is a big one. They host Inter in Serie A in the Derby d’Italia.
It is far from certain that Cambiaso will be able to return for that match.
The Italian international should take right around a week to put the finishing touches on his recovery.
Therefore, Cambiaso’s availability next Sunday would be touch-and-go.
However, that is what the 24-year-old is pushing for. Otherwise, he will aim to be available for the second leg against PSV in the Champions League.
