Douglas Luiz’s failure to report for the first day of Juventus’s pre-season training camp has added to a fire that was already burning for him in Turin, which leaves the Bianconeri facing a race against time to find a buyer for the elusive midfielder.

The former Aston Villa did not show up for the first day of Juventus’s pre-season training on Thursday. As a result, the club are expected to dish out a fine and look for a sale, following what was an underwhelming first season in Serie A after the Brazilian’s €50m move from Aston Villa last year.

Douglas Luiz’s agents, meanwhile, have hinted that the player will return to Continassa next week.

Juventus have one month to find Douglas Luiz solution

The issue for Juventus does not relate to the impending disciplinary measures – Douglas Luiz is expected to be fined. However, the timing of the ordeal and the lack of concrete offers could be a problem for the Old Lady.

Douglas Luiz is eager to return to the Premier League, but as things stand, there have been no formal offers for his services, and now, there is just over a month of the summer transfer window remaining for the club to find a solution.
