Juventus are set to hold a new round of talks for free agent Jonathan David, despite concerns over the player’s potential signing-on bonus.
Juventus remain keen on wrapping up a deal for Canada international David, who is available as a free agent after netting 109 goals from 232 appearances in all competitions across a five-year spell with Lille in Ligue 1.
David is a player the Bianconeri have been targeting since the summer of 2023, originally identified by the recently-departed sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli. The Old Lady remains keen following the executive’s departure.
Later this week, there will be a new round of talks between Juventus and David’s representatives, Football Italia understands.
There have already been a series of meetings to discuss a move to Turin this summer, but there has not yet been any agreement reached over personal terms for the 25-year-old centre-forward.
Juventus are seeking a discount on the €10m bonus that David is seeking. The signing bonus is more of a concern for the Bianconeri than the €6m-€7m per-season salary that the player has requested.
Juve are not the only side interested in a deal for David this summer though, as both Napoli and Inter have also explored moves, as well as Fenerbahce and a number of clubs in the Middle East.
The player’s preference is to remain in Europe as things stand, though.
