The Juventus brass is in lockstep about trying to bring back Federico Chiesa. The early contacts with his camp were positive, but they’ll have to wait before concretely negotiating with Liverpool, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Reds didn’t shut the door, but they need the Italian winger until Mohamed Salah is away for AFCON, or they add another attack. Therefore, the deal could eventually come together in the second half of the window.
In addition to eyeing Chiesa, Juventus are monitoring the market for a new striker, considering Jonathan David and Lois Openda’s inconsistency. Alexander Sorloth could emerge as an option, although Atletico Madrid are unlikely to lose both him and Giacomo Raspadori in the same window. The latter is on the fence about moving, though. The Bianconeri could even offer a swap between the Norwegian and the Canadian marksmen.
Darwin Nunez, Lorenzo Lucca and Artem Dovbyk are also on the Old Lady’s radar, as Napoli and Roma are dangling the last two. Gonzalo Garcia had a breakout performance with Real Madrid and will stay put. Instead, Daniel Maldini’s agent is offering him to a few sides.
As for the former Fiorentina star, Liverpool are open for business, but only with a definitive formula, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
It looks like they have a better chance than the other teams that have tried, but striking a deal with the Reds and on his personal terms will still be a challenge. He’d be a lot more than a Kenan Yildiz deputy and likely their lone signing there. Instead, if they struck out, they could use a hulking center-forward, as their lack of physicality is a hindrance in some match-ups.
