Juventus are searching for an attacker to round out their frontline and are considering making a run at Federico Chiesa, who continues to be underutilized at Liverpool, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Bianconeri have a new coach and overhauled their brass since pushing him out in the summer of 2024. He had a year left on his contract at the time, the parties weren’t close to a renewal, and the club didn’t want to lose him for nothing. The Reds nabbed him for €12M.
Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti holds Chiesa in high regard and would welcome the arrival of a versatile forward who could handle all three offensive roles in his scheme, and not simply back up Kenan Yildiz. The Old Lady is intrigued, but the negotiation has not yet begun.
Like other sides that tried to lure the winger back to Serie A, they’ll need to convince him first. He’s playing more than usual at the moment because Mohamed Salah is away for AFCON and Alexander Isak suffered a major injury. He doesn’t want to leave England through the back door without leaving his mark.
The Bianconeri are eyeing further Premier League options, such as Brentford’s Kevin Schade and Mikkel Damsgaard, and Sunderland’s Simon Adringa. Instead, Real Madrid plan to keep Gonzalo Garcia.
It’s not the worst idea, since they are basically a new team since he left, and he’s already done okay under Spalletti. However, despite the recurrent chatter, he has never seemed particularly open to leaving the Reds, even when clubs that would have given him a larger role came calling. Plus, his wages are very high for the Bianconeri‘s new standards.
