Kaczmarski Impresses as Inter U23 Secure Catania Victory

Inter U23 began their Serie C campaign with a 2-1 win away at Catania, with Maye and Mosconi scoring either side of half-time before Russo pulled one back for the hosts in the second half.

According to FCInter1908, Stefano Vecchi’s side started slowly at the Massimino against one of Girone C’s most rated sides before growing into the game.

Catania threatened first, with a smart recovery run from Kaczmarski clearing danger off the line inside the opening minutes. The Nerazzurri gradually found their rhythm and were rewarded on 39′ when Maye rose to head home from a Marello corner.

Two minutes into first-half stoppage time, referee Spina awarded a penalty after a VFS review confirmed Jimenez had fouled Lavelli inside the box. Mosconi stepped up and converted calmly to make it 0-2 at the break.

Kaczmarski Stands Out as Inter Hold On

Catania emerged for the second half with three changes and pushed hard, halving the deficit on 65′ when Russo headed in from a Cicerelli free-kick. Vecchi’s side responded by tightening up defensively, with Melgrati producing key saves and Lavelli and Zuberek both spurning late chances to seal the win at 3-1.

Per FCInter1908 , the performance offered plenty of encouragement for Cristian Chivu regarding the club’s emerging talent, with Kaczmarski singled out for a standout display in midfield.

Prestia was forced off with a muscular issue before the break and replaced by Jakirovic.
